UNDERSTANDING PHENYLKETONURIA (PKU)

Phenylketonuria PK is a rare inherited condition. It affects the organism's capacity to break down an amino acid called phenylalanine. Typically, the organs makes an enzyme known as phenylalanine hydroxylase, which converts phenylalanine into tyrosine. In people who have PKU, this enzyme is function properly. As a result, phenylalanine builds up in
